Thank you for the update. I know Don would have loved to go up there to see you and go sailing on the lake. It is so sad that he can't do that now.
Happy sailing, Sally

This all sounds wonderful, Joe and Libby. Congratulations on simplifying and yet still being accommodating to your friends. I hope I can take up your offer someday soon.

We are so happy for you. It was a very smart move, now you have a permanent lake home that you can move if you want for you and your boat. Enjoy everyday,
Don and Sally T.
|
My goodness, you are such a lucky man! You are living the dream. I was sharing your blog with a coworker that has dreams of doing a cross country RV trip, and we are both very envious of your trips. It's beautiful! The lake in Oregon looks pretty amazing as well. Ferns are some of my favorite plants, and they're everywhere!! Beauty beyond words.... And you have a super nice setup in the RV! It looks cozy. Thank you so much for sharing. I love to escape from my desk (so to speak) for a few minutes and go into a whole new world. You helped me get there today :-) You seem to have found the key to happiness

Don and I are so glad you are enjoying your life. I'm happy your new motor home worked out so well. It must be lots of fun socializing with the other sailors. We enjoyed doing that when we were cruising. Go for it while you can and have the most fun that you can. Enjoy life.
Sally & Don
|
Hey, Joe - nice to hear from you guys again! It sounds like the new, smaller motor home is working out nice for you. Give Libby a hug for us and keep enjoying your adventures!

Soooo happy to hear from you and Libby. And soooo happy you are feeling well and planning to travel and sail. Look forward eagerly to seeing you both in L A. Congrats on Tim's upcoming wedding. Very exciting! Love you both.
Jodi T.
|
Thanks for sending me the info on your upcoming trips. I am jealous but also so very happy for you and LIbby. It is just great that your health is back and you are ready to roll. I would love to do a park route like you are doing but I will have to limit myself to walks in the wooded areas around Lake Oswego for the most part.
Mike B.
|
Joe, this is wonderful news. I think of you often and always say a little prayer for you both. You are apparently invincible and I am thrilled for you and Libby that you can hit the road once again. I will check out the details of your upcoming trip. Keep me updated. Again, let me say that you two deserve the best so, enjoy each moment of the season and be sure to EAT your broccoli.
Carol C.
|
Oh my god!! Wonderful news! I am so happy for you!! I was thinking about you this week, it must have been so difficult to wait for the results. I am glad this is over and that you can now move on, get your strength back, and celebrate, of course! Congratulations! Wonderful-wonderful news! Thank you for sharing these wonderful news, and also for including me on the updates and messages throughout the treatment. Now have fun, celebrate, and enjoy this wonderful fall season that has just started and this new beginning!
Melissa K.
|
Your news is wonderful and I am delighted that you are in remission. I hope you resume your travels and if you come this way, let me know. All the best to you and Libby,
Gloria G.
|
I am glad to hear your chemo therapy was over and most importantly it was successful. Probably you remember that I had colon cancer 25 years ago. I had surgery and I had to take 3 sessions of chemo. It was not easy thing to experience but 25 years later I am doing OK without my colon. Human body does amazing things some time to adjust to the changes that occurred to your body. You will be fine 5 years from now. As matter of fact you will enjoy your life much much longer after that. Congratulations my friend.
Eiji K.
|
Hi Joe,That is great news! So glad things are looking up for you. This disease needs to be beaten soon. I had prostate cancer 4 years ago and so far so good. Keep active, eat well, and exercise. It works. Stay well!
Dan and Jill
|
Truly wonderful news, Joe! You are a brave soul to have gone through this, plus your two knee surgeries!!! Have a great trip!
Connie B.
|
I didn't write when I first got your news because I thought you would be inundated with best wishes but you have been on my mind constantly. I'm so happy to get this news. Congratulations!! Have fun on your upcoming 10-day tour in the new motorhome and let us know if you'll be coming to CA.
Jayne S.
|
OUTSTANDING!!! I AM ELATED......I could not be happier to hear this news. I'm in Bangkok and I will return home on the 16th. I will give you a call soon thereafter.
Don A.
|
Absolutely delighted to hear the news! Enjoy your trip (I have no doubt you will). I suspect that even the air tastes better today. Love to Libby... I'm sure this was a difficult time for her as well. Your attitude throughout was inspiring. Many greetings from Paris.
Phil S.
|
Great news, Joe. You just gave Lymphoma a major NUGGIE!! Now it's time to follow through, get that extra edge, and move on.Enjoy the journey, see whatever you can, be whatever you want.
Zacc
|
That is GREAT news!!!! Glad you got the good news! Now you can enjoy the upcoming holiday season! Love and regards to you & Libby from the both of us.

That's certainly great news Joe! Hope everything continues on the right path for you as you continue down the road to being cancer-free. The new motorhome looks awesome! Enjoy!
Greg I.
|
I am so happy to hear your wonderful news. You have been in my prayers daily. Be safe in your travels and I hope you both have a great time. If you're ever in mid MO give us a shout. Happy Holidays to you and your family also.
Shelley M.
|
I love love love that this is the final report on this topic and am thrilled for your test results. You are amazing in so many ways, and beating this goes to the top of your list of accomplishments. I'm sure that the last many months have been tough on you both, and hope you can relax a bit now and love that you are going back on the road to enjoy life. This message made me so happy to read. I've been thinking, rooting, and praying for you !!! I'll watch your blog and look forward to following your travels!
Denise P.
|
Very glad to hear from you that the Chemo is passed and the possible Radiation is just that, "possible" and just a precaution. Sounds like you are about to embark on your first "go" in the latest rolling "Taj." What toys will you be hauling along on your first Odyssey? Happy Trails to you both. Do keep us posted as before about all the adventures!!
Fred & Frans
|
That is great news Joe. Best wishes for continued remission and safe travels. I'm sure you and Libby are ready to hit the road again.
Tom K.
|
Caro Giuseppe. In boca lupo! Congratulations !! Keep on the healthy side of those Birthdays!! You're definitely on the road again!! So glad to hear this great news!! Tanti Auguri
Jillian
|
I'll tag along on your road trip - if it's alright - by checking into your links - which I've done all along. I'm so happy for yous, You're a very special guy.
Nikki
|
I am thrilled to hear your wonderful news. You & Libby have been dealing with a lot and I'm very happy that the blessings are back on track. I'll keep all of you in my prayers as always. Enjoy your excursions. I'll check your blog for photos.
Angela R.
|
I have always viewed you both as very wonderful, giving, and transparent friends. It is true that we have a lot in common and that sometimes commonality facilitates a closer and more easily understood friendship. In your case, you have shown a desire to share your lives, stimulate curiosity, and universally expose your experiences, good and not so good, to a large group of like minded folks. I view this willingness as a wondrous gift that you have both been blessed with, and I am grateful especially for your examples of transparency.
Vince G.
|
You are one of the most positive, upbeat people I know. I have no doubt that you'll beat this and I'll be sending you good energy - please let me know how you're doing and how things are going. I hope to make it to Portland soon to visit you guys.
Scott W.
|
Joe, you certainly made me cry and smile. If anyone can do it, it will be you. I remember a good friend went to see a friend In the hospital and said she could not comment properly as she was not the one sitting in the hospital bed. I agree. Take care you two and I will check Into the site to keep up-to-date.
Susie and Marceli, Sagastaweka Island
|
I can't say I like reading of your diagnosis and I'm sure you weren't thrilled to get it. However I love reading about your total optimism and fighting spirit. I know you will beat this. A positive optimistic attitude, lots of rest, love, laughter, family and friends really are the difference maker. Regardless though I will hold nothing but positive vibes (I think that is a pantheist way of saying I'll pray for you) for your treatment and recovery. You, Libby and Westie will be cruising in the new Moho before you know it.
James O.
|
Brenda and I are absolutely devastated to hear this news. I know you are doing your "Joe Burke best" to be upbeat about everything, but as a cancer survivor myself, I know what is truly going on in your mind right now. But yes, my friend, you WILL beat this evil sonofabitch and next year at this time...you, Libby, and Corey will be on the road in your new motorhome enjoying "the good" life.
Larry M.
|
I'm sorry to hear this. I know you are a tough cuss and love your attitude on this. I know this is a lot to process and having the right frame of mind is so important to kicking cancer's ass. I have no doubt you have it in you. This will be tough this summer but I have faith in you seeing this through. Hugs to you all. Here for you my friend
Denise P.
|
Thank you for sharing. I would expect no less from you, connected as you are to so many. And enlivener of so many lives. You are strong, as you say. This also will pass. It may not be pleasant, but do share the journey. When you share, we are One with YOU. Then we can feel with you. Then we can send light and love to you and yours. As we shall do. And you do have this rather powerful relationship with the Source of The All. That is a companion on the journey as well. Namu Amida Butsu
Chris P.
|
Sorry to hear of your woes, buddy. Okay, it's time for a fight. You've had them in the past, and I suspect you're ready for this one. May the summer go smoothly and deliver a healthy dose of strength and will power.
Zacc
|
DD and I are sorry to hear about your health issues and wish you a speedy recovery so that you and Libby can get out to enjoy your new motorhome, sailing, and cruising around in your MG as soon as possible. God has a plan for each of us even though we may not see it, agree with it, or can't seem to figure out how it fits into our life. In the past year or so we have come to realize that life isn't always the way we want or desire it to be but we are trying to enjoy life and each day as they are given to us. We send our best and know that you will come through this to hopefully get on the road with your new toy real soon. If you need anything please let us know.
Don and DD M.
|
Joe darling. I am shocked about your news and I hope and pray with all my heart that your recovery will be swift. It's something none of us wants to hear but we have no control over anything, so we have to forge on, and do whatever is necessary to eradicate the problem. You are strong of mind so onward and upward. I hate to see you go through this but I know the outcome will be good. And you will be traveling and sailing. Love and hugs.
Jodi T.
|
That is certainly bad and disconcerting news!! The big C is always a big scare, no matter what. Especially for a guy who is as active and involved as you!! Still, it's comforting to hear that this is a very treatable type of cancer. Seems that this process calls for patients with patience. It's a toughie, but reading your email shows me you have absolutely the right, positive attitude; AND you have Libby by your side! Hey, the toys can wait. And, from what you're saying in your Email, you'll be able to use a toy or two as you feel up to it. All good news.
Fred S.
|
So sorry to hear the news, and I wish you a quick victory in the fight. Your attitude seems great, and although I'm sure this will be challenging. I know you'll beat it. For guys like me who still sit behind a keyboard (rather than at the helm or piloting a land yacht), your adventures are inspiring. Unlike so many people I know, you and Libby show that retirement is not the end of adventures, but the beginning. God bless. I'll be thinking of you.
Phil S.
|
Oh Joe. This is very sad news but you've got such a great attitude. Keep it up! We both hope the treatment is effective and you're back on the road soon. Stay positive and know that our thoughts are with you and Libby.
Jayne & Lorenzo
|
I'm delighted to see that you'll once again be plying the roads of our large and interesting country. While from the outside the new rig looks like a sleek cab-over camper, as I watched the video I realized it is much more than that. You'll have a ball.
Fred S.
|
The new coach is beautiful! Of course it had to be a SunSEEKER to go along with Wind-SEEKER!!! I hope we can meet somewhere this summer. I am glad to see the 3 of you back on the road!!!!
Ginny S.
|
Ha! Knew you couldn't stay put for long! Good plan, Sunseeker looks like the perfect unit!
Cecilia J.
|
Wow... The new Sunseeker is a beauty. Perfect condition, as well. Time to get back on the road!
Frank B.
|
I am amazed how much you two did/are doing/will do! Your blogs were most enjoyable and informative, especially because you have a very compelling style of writing and, as a teacher, I appreciate your attention to detail in both content and style. (We teachers find great joy in the proper use of apostrophes and good page design.) Take care!
Lei-Ann A.
|
We love our new Allegro Bus. Can't thank you enough for passing it along to us.. Kurt and I feel like we have 2 new friends. We are so very excited and can't wait to start building memories. Kurt called me on his drive home and said it "Drives like a dream." Thanks again, we feel very blessed!
Gayle and Kurt (Ed: new owners)
|
It's all about a life well-lived, and YOU have always been an inspiration in that regard.
Chris P
|
As much as I enjoyed reading about all of your home-away-from-home locations, the one that most stands out for me is the 1,000 (or is it 10,000) islands stopovers. I was really jealous of that experience! I also viewed many of the video sites you provided. Your decision to stay put for a while in the wonderful surroundings in which you now live is a sound one.
Fred S
|
Thank you for the final update. You two have been living the life as land cruisers and did it better than anyone could. We are happy you enjoyed that part of your life, now on to the next chapter. Enjoy everyday! Hugs and best wishes!
Sally and Don
|
Steve and I have loved traveling along with you and Libby and we look forward to your next adventure, wherever that may be. Here's to good friends.
Judy and Steve
|
Your "Tour concludes" email was a heartfelt 'Taps...' in memory of your Great adventure sagas!! I'm glad I got to see & share some of the most remarkable places you sailed!! And see with my own eyes the rolling Tiffin executive suite! What blessings!!! Your new MGB sounds perfect!!
Jillian
|
You folks look REALLY happy doing your tour. We are glad for you. The motorhome looks great, and the country & lakes are just as good, Joe. And I enjoyed the pictures of your sons. Good looking boys.
Jim & Alice
|
Looks like you are having the best of what you can possibly have, a very good time. Good to hear from you.
Bernice
|
Joe and Libby, I just returned from your 2016 photo tour and can feel my seaman heritage surging in my veins. Water, Water everywhere and what cute little cottages...who knew. Do we still have time to snap one up? Thanks for the sneak peek of this wonderful playground. Keep living the good life and say hi to Goldie for me. Fondly,
Carol
|
Hello Joe and Libby... I didn't know that Lake Tellico existed. It is beautiful, thanks for the picture, and please keep us posted on this year's tour.
Roger & Chris S
|
Wow! You have it put together in a nice package. I smell a reality TV show in the making, "On the Road With Joe". Love the photo of the caravan.
Terry W.
|
It's always good to hear your travelogues. Where are you guys now? And when are you coming back?
(Ed: Someday.... someday...)
Kitti
|
That's wonderful! Traveling is a glorious thing. Glad you two are having such marvelous adventures!
Lee B.
|
Looks just wonderful, or as old Lawrence Welk used to say Wunnerful, Wunnerful! I'd just like to make one little change in the verbiage of your Email. It's not an "Arsenal" it's become a flotilla!! Looking forward to reading and watching your 2016 purposely peripatetic progress!
Fred S.
|
Happy Birthday, Joe! I spent many happy hours in Alexandria Bay, Fishers Landing, and Gananoque..boating, fishing. Your sojourn sounds wonderful!
Kenny B.
|
Where is the Quad and the snowmobile golf cart and the hot tub??? Smooth sailing to you and Libby.
Ken & Susan
|
Sounds like a good plan. Have you thought about checking out the great lakes? Isle Royale etc? This Georgian Bay looks like a pretty cool place, and it is part of Lake Huron so I guess you got the Great Lake part covered.
Junaid
|
I love the Oregon vistas... So beautiful. And photos from your adventures. Great! Keep 'em coming. Best from us both.
Diana & Mike F.
|
Cool Site! We had a 2006 Allegro Bus 40 ft. Loved it, 4 slides, dishwasher, computer monitor was the back up camera. You will have a ball. Bob Tiffin is great. The units lacked some quality control back then, but Tiffin would fix anything wrong. Have fun!
Mike Y.
|
Merry Xmas Joe. Great hearing from you. Hope it's another great year of adventures for you and your family
Gary and Kate
|
Hi Joe & Libby - Many thanks for your card. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Meanwhile we do enjoy your blogs and feel that you should make it all into a wonderful travel book along with your great pictures. All the best from us both. Merry Christmas
Duncan & Anne-Marie

Boy you and Libby sure live the king's life... can't even imagine how glorious it is to just sail and travel around the country --- what a life!! Not many can do it.,,,,, unless they are billionaires!
Jodi T
|
Glad you're finally settling down! Sounds like you had a pretty wild time in the Carolina's, with wind and rain; I'm sure you'll be happy just to sit and enjoy for the winter. See you in the 1000 Islands next summer!
Bill and Penny S.
|
Great to hear from you, Corey. Take care of Joe & Libby this winter. P.S. watch out for the pythons and alligators. Have a Merry Christmas.
Mike V
|
What an exciting trip you are having. The Thousand Islands looks awesome. Thanks for keeping us updated!
Gary E.
|
Your "travelogue" is terrific. I think you should package it and offer it to sailing/travel mags, mass media and online outlets.Thousand Islands promoters are currently spending big bucks on TV. Newport competes. Or not, and just enjoy every moment... (Ed: Unfortunately, we have to weigh that idea against our desire to maintain privacy. This is a very private blog, and we go to great lengths to keep it that way. Only the Windseeker homepage is public. Everything else is only for friends and family and definitely NOT for publication anywhere outside the blog. Not facebook, not anywhere.')
Zacc
|
Thanks for keeping us in the know about your travels and sailing adventures. You two are certainly enjoying life the way it was meant to be. Keep the blog rolling - it is almost like traveling with you because of your photos and descriptions of each of them. Corey must be a great traveler and companion. I really like his perch on your boat including his royal cushion and sun cover!
Carl & Sherri H.
|
Great trip! We spent a week in Newport w/ the Rolls Royce Owners Club. Went thru all the houses. What a neat week!
Mike V.
|
I always track where you guys sail :-) I keep up with Libby's Facebook posts as well as the wind seeker blog. Thanks for sharing, and yes... the Thousand Islands region has been added to the bucket list!
Thom F.
|
Thanks for the update! Particularly like the photoshopped picture of your WA house on an island :-) (Ed: We have the next best thing, don't we... Our motorhome goes just about anywhere we want it to!)
Larry M
|
Very nice Joe & Libbingtons....... It all looks magnificent..........So glad you are making the best of

Lou F
|
Wow Joe I checked out your wind-seeker.com website. You are living the dream in that 43' Allegro. What a gorgeous rig. Thanks for the link to Westie rescue.

We love your new Tiffin, and the travels coming will surely be an adventure. Today is Jan 1, so looks like you made it to LA on schedule. Of all the states we have traveled, California is still our most favorite. Enjoy! God Bless you and Libby, keep you safe, and we'll be looking for your updates. Pictures are good!
Jim & Alice

I took a look at your website and read all about your adventures and new coach. Fabulous for you three! You are living the dream, you are doing it in style, and you are VERY lucky to have the right traveling companion to do it with!

|
Nice Joe! Happy for you guys... You deserve it! I'm a little jealous though because that would be a dream of mine.. Just grab my guitar and my lady and play anywhere and everywhere
Les V.
|
Read it all and looked at all the new photos... WOW! I am sure you guys will have fun with the new coach... and like you said... retirement is shorter than life itself and you can't take it with you, so go for it! Congratulations!
Larry M.
|
Can't believe it. How you showcased a Garage so perfect. And yes you have bragging rights, Needs to be in a magazine. Love IT! The cleanest garage I've ever seen.
Jesse B
|
Good God - your garage is better than any house I have ever had, and your house is in another universe. Bragging rights are yours for sure!
Mike S.
|
I feel as though we're seeing stealth shots of the Getty mansion!!! The house looks great and super well put together!! Congrats!!
Fred S.
|
The house looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! It is so much you & Libby! We hope to get up there this year to see it and have a visit. We love your rugs. Thanks for sharing.
Ginny and Bill
|
Wow... a ton of work, guys. I am amazed you're still married. :) the house is a show place, for sure. You could probably be on some home & garden tour -- although probably half the people on those things are casing the joint for a robbery. Keep that security system in good order.
Frank B.
|
Wow! I'm absolutely in awe of your beautiful new house! You guys have done a beautiful job of transformation. Congratulations.
Larry M.
|
The house looks fabulous! I can see you invested a lot of time and money decorating it all to your liking. It surely looks very homey and very tasteful!
Haim
|
It's absolutely gorgeous. Now that I see this, I realize that you guys need a home base. Traveling to other homes or in your snail shell might be fun but not full-time. You've put so much into this and you're obviously very proud of it. It's just beautiful.
Jayne S.
|
Joe, the pics are amazing!! Your home looks lovely!!!
Camila

Looks great Joe, congrats on weathering the construction work -- that's always a test of one's sanity :).

Nice digs Joe. Lynn & I are definitely coming up to see ya...SOON. The new place looks fab, I'm sure you guys will be very happy there.
Your buddy, Craig

Hi Joe
Just enjoyed spending about 45 minutes reading your latest adventures with my morning cup of coffee....feel like I've just been on tour with you! I really enjoy all the photos and commentary about where you are, am learning a lot about places we haven't visited. Keep it up!
Of course you know the pics of Anne Marie are special to us sailors....she looks great, and that last pic on the gallery (moon over Konocti) needs to be in a sailing magazine. I love that the two of you are 'tearing it up' in retirement......so happy for you!

Hi Joe and Libby,
I Loved your blog, it was almost like being there. You do a great job with all the excellent photos and dialog. It was fun to see what you have been up to since we last saw you. You have a real flair for writing, I didn't know you had that talent. You are full of surprises. I also love that you have a blog rather than facebook. Have a great time and keep up the blog, I love it!

love reading your travel log - have a question - who is taking all the breathtaking photos - and I am a little jealous of all you have seen - you make me want to jump into an RV and tag along -
Everyday I wake up to see what you have seen - it is so fun - glad you are having a good time - I am too

I just checked your blog for activity and saw all the pictures from the Nethercutt Museum. Wow!! I have never been there, either... but you can bet it's on my west coast bucket list. I've always been mildly infatuated with old cars and I'll bet this is a full day trip just to see them all.
BTW, I just noticed something very nice about your gallery. Though I've always known to hover over a picture to resize it... I didn't realize that how you have it laid out lets me just position my mouse once over any picture, then scroll down and as each picture is under the pointer it resizes. Neat trick to save carpal tunnel.

Joe,
You and Libby are looking good. All is well here in the Gorge. Perhaps we will cross paths this summer. I bought a Winnebago and we'll be going to the Redwoods this July or August.

Saw some of your posts on the yahoo country coach forum and noticed that you own a inspire founders edition. We also have a 2008 inspire founder edition and they seem to be fairly rare coach. In my travels I have only run across another founders edition but it was the allure model with a bath and half floor plan. It was also very nice.
We have enjoyed ours very much and are currently full timing in the coach and have been doing so for about 1 and half years.
Anyway, just wanted to touch base with you and let you know I enjoy your postings.
