MOAB, UTAH PHOTO GALLERY

The town of Moab in western Utah is one of the most popular destinations in the western U.S. Known as the outdoor adventure capital of the United States, the major attractions in the Moab area include the celebrated Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park as well as the steep dramatic canyons of the Colorado River, Dead Horse Point State Park and an offroad mecca called Hell's Revenge, all of which we visited for a week in April 2023.

Arches National Park

Welcome to Moab, Utah and all its wonders!

Dead Horse Point State Park

Libby snapped this photo of me at the same spot, with the Colorado deep in the distance.

Here's Riley and I gazing out over the distant view of Dead Horse Point State Park

Canyonlands National Park

Next, we drove all through the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park

We paused at various Canyonlands scenic overlooks for a photo.

This is another scenic viewpoint called Buck Canyon Overlook

One final shot from Canyonlands National Park is this iconic view of Candlestick Tower

Hell's Revenge Trail Offroad Adventure

Libby and I in our Can Am UTV suited up for an extreme offroad adventure on Hells Revenge Trail

The adventure begins with a steep climbonto a mesa where the trail encounters many challenges

This is a typical section of rocky trail - it gets worse but it's impossible to hold the camera

Hell's Revenge Trail offers many extraordinary views if you dare take your eyes off the trail

We made a couple stops, this one to study some extraordinary dinosaur foot prints in the sandstone

Here's a view down to the town of Moab in the valley below as we begin our descent.

Moab Jett boat tour on the Colorado River

This is the 15 mile stretch of the Colorado River we cruised in a jet boat

Here we are all suited up forour extreme afternoon adventure

This is Libby and I in the front row of the jet boat hanging on as we ripped along at 40 mph

Moab Jett Boat runs concurrent boats when the customer load demands.

Just one example of the magnificent scenery along this stretch of the Colorado River

Another of an endless string of fantastic photo opps on this stretch of the river

More great sandstone rock screnery along the river

Mesas and Buttes abound as we zip along the river.

We also encountered numerous groups of people rafting the river at much saner speeds

This is an example of an arch somewhere in its million year evolution of erosion

Our guide had very sharp eyes and pointed out several groups of bighorn sheep on the cliffs

This concludes our visit to Utah... one magnificent state!
